Greg has over 25 years of experience in derivatives & has been a CME member since 1994. He ran the highest volume S&P 500 option desk at the CME as an independent broker from 1994 to 1995. From 1995 to 1997 he managed Linnco Futures group (CME) S&P 500 option desk. Greg was hired at the behest of Goldman Sachs New York Equity index proprietary volatility desk in 1997. He managed the Goldman Sachs (CME) S&P 500 option desk from 1997 to 2005. From 2005 to 2011 he was Vice-President of Goldman Sachs Fixed income execution desk (CME/CBOT). Greg joined Trean group in the fall of 2011 & has served as Managing Director/ Head of Brokerage Sales.

In his 25 years of experience, Greg has built mutually beneficial relationships with some of the largest institutions in the industry. Clients have included foreign governments, hedge funds, Fortune 500 companies, multi-national banks, proprietary traders and broker dealers. He has worked on the front lines during extremely volatile markets (Fed Surprise 1994/ Thai Baht Crisis/ Russia Meltdown/ Long Term Capital Management/ dot.com bubble/ 2008 financial crisis etc). Greg’s client relationships, market color, trade ideas and experienced execution skills have helped build Trean Group into a major player in fixed income derivative brokerage.

Mr. Koules holds a BBA in Finance from Baylor University.
